Doug Brooks was born in Seattle and has advanced degrees in Electronics from Stanford University and in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
He started his career as an electronics design engineer on the Surveyor Spacecraft Program at Hughes Aircraft Co. He then began a career in marketing that led to Vice President, General Manager, and President of such companies as LODEC, Inc., Kistler-Morse, ELDEC, and Bourns, Inc. He has been active in numerous trade associations, has sat as an outside board member for several companies, trade associations, and a retirement community, and is an Elder in the Presbyterian church. He has had regular monthly columns in several trade association publications, and currently has a column "Brooks' Bits" at PCB Design 007. He has been a featured speaker at seminars all over the world, including Moscow, Beijing, and Melbourne.
He is the author of two books, "Signal Integrity Issues and Printed Circuit Board Design" (2003) and "PCB Currents: How They Flow, How They React," (2013) both published by Prentice Hall. And Prentice Hall recently (2014) released a 7+ hour video lesson series "PCB Signal Integrity LiveLessons" covering all of the information in Brooks' signal integrity seminars.
